PGoTh: quote The disciples asked him, "Do you want us to fast? How should we pray? Should we give to charity? What diet should we observe?" J said, "When you go into any region and walk the countryside, and people take you in, eat what they serve you. After all, what goes into your mouth will not defile you; rather it's what comes out of your mouth that will reveal you." unquote

Form: Pursah's editing seems to address a very obvious correction, which from a standpoint of scriptural scholarship could be guessed at, but not seriously entertained without sources to support such a version. The result of her edit here is a very straightforward and clear question and answer, and the removal of some material that at in part seems out of context, if otherwise legitimate (6), or at first blush would very likely be suspect, and out of character(14).
Content: The contracted version of Pursah makes for a straightforward instruction by J, encouraging us to let go of the ego's emphasis of form over content, and instead to honor only content, and adapt to whatever form seems appropriate at the time. Instead we should concern ourselves with the question if we are channeling the ego or the holy spirit, for only what we say will reflect that, the circumstances are irrelevant.
