P/GoTh:
quote There was a rich person who had a great deal of money. He said, "I shall invest my money so that I may sow, reap, plant, and fill my storehouses with produce, that I may lack nothing." These were the things he was thinking in his heart, but that very night he died. unquote
MM/GoTh:
Form: Interestingly Pursah leaves off the ears to hear quote.
Content: Obviously when we invest with the ego in permanence in the world, in resistance against the spontaneity of spirit, we die. Right then. This is why the Course says the world was made as an attack on God. Our investment in the things of the world is our defense against God. We either choose the ego, or the Holy Spirit, and only one of them is real, and it isn't the ego (or death). To put it another way, scarcity is an ego belief resulting directly from the choice for the separation, and it is not solved with things, but only by accepting the atonement for oneself. The later is the choice for life.
