quote A woman in the crowd said to him, "Lucky are the womb that bore you and the breasts that fed you." He said to her, "Lucky are those who have heard the word of the Father and have truly kept it. For there will be days when you will say, "Lucky are the womb that has not conceived and the breasts that have not given milk." unquote
Form: Nearly nothing. "Fortunate" into "lucky" is hardly more than a minor cosmetic change, with a more contemporary feel to it.
Content: This saying exposes a typical ego fallacy, namely that the past explains the present, and makes it what it is. The "blessing" it suggests here is to honor the past and ignore the present, which is precisely the ego's purpose. Jesus' answer is quite plainly that no 'achievements' of the ego have anything to contribute to who or what we are, ever.
