When Pursah in DU (pp. 79-80) discusses the Logia 26, 31, 36, 54, 94, and 95, she refers to them as "prequels of the New Testament."
The obvious point she is making with this cute neologism, is that part of the recognition we have for the Thomas material rests on our acquaintance with some of it from NT literature. The underlying notion is however that by seeing the Thomas logia in the proper context of the thought system which Jesus teaches, we are also starting to hear these old familiar statements with new ears. This has everything to do with the Course's "questioning every value that you hold," and the implied invitation to crack open the shutters which were painted over for so long by Christian theology and to let the sunshine in again.
The NT references are as follows: Logion 26 - Mt 7:3-5, and Lk 6:41-42; Logion 31 - Mk 6:4, Mt 13:57 and Lk 4:24; Logion 36 - Mt 6:25-34, Lk 12:22-31; Logion 54 - Mt 5:3, Lk 6:20; Logion 94 - Mt 7:7-8, Lk 11:9-10 Logion 95 - Mt 5:42b, Lk 6:34, 35c
